“The most amazing and inspiring discovery by neuroscience in the last three decades is that it is never too late to change your brain – adults can benefit from auditory processing, reading and memory programs just much as children – as long as the programs are well designed and administered in the right way.”
Is your child struggling in school? Are you an adult who would like to improve your learning skills or maintain cognitive function?

What is Fast ForWord® ?
Fast ForWord is an English language/reading development program designed by leading cognitive neuroscientists, to target the root causes of learning and reading difficulties in the brain. These online programs help people worldwide to build, improve and maintain their cognitive skills including MEMORY, ATTENTION, PROCESSING and SEQUENCING (MAPS).
Memory
Strong long term and working memory helps us understand and retain information, build sound/letter correspondences and support fluency and comprehension. Fast ForWord exercises build phonological working memory by asking students to remember sounds long enough to identify and match them.
Attention
The ability to focus on specific information, sustain that focus, and ignore distractions while carrying out a task is essential to building strong literacy. Fast ForWord builds attention by requiring students to attend to directions, phonemes, and words or sentences in every task.

Processing
Processing skills allow us to integrate and make sense of auditory and/or visual information. Phonemic awareness, connecting letters to sounds, is critical for reading but some children struggle to perceive and process sounds.
Sequencing
Sequencing is the ability to track the order of things, such as the sounds in a word, the words in a sentence, the sentences in a paragraph, or the events in a story. All Fast ForWord exercises incorporate sequence practice, from understanding the order of directions, to building with sound parts in a sequence that create words. Learners practice accurately completing tasks in a desired order.

Who is Fast ForWord® for ?
Fast ForWord is suitable for all students from 5 years of age to adolescents and adults.
Different learner types and intervention levels have different needs. Fast ForWord offers a personalized and differentiated pathway for each learner to maximize learning potential
Based on the concept of: “neu-roplas-tic-ity” – the ability of the brain to form and reorganize synaptic connections especially following injury; the ability of the brain to be rewired to function in some way that differs from how it previously functioned.
According to Dr. Norman Doidge, neuroscientist and best selling author of “ The Brain That Changes Itself ”, Neuroplasticity is the single most important change in understanding the human brain in 400 years.

Studies demonstrate effectiveness of the Fast ForWord® software which incorporate brain fitness experiences that improve reading skills along with Clear Fluency software that targets comprehension and fluency. Studies show the impact of the product on diverse populations in a variety of settings from more than 100,000 people in 1,000 schools.
Fast ForWord® have been helping learners succeed for over 20 years in over 50 countries. Instead of re-teaching classroom content, these programs build the skills needed to be better at learning, potentially saving hundreds of dollars on tutoring.

Stories
We hear many inspiring stories about how Fast ForWord has changed the lives of so many children. Here you can read some of those stories.
“Within 15 months. Elliot’s concentration became easier and he was more calm. not so stressed. Another month later and we started noticing subtle changes – Elliot was thinking more clearly, was more confident, and more settled in his thought processes. Elaine says Elliot’s times tables have also improved since doing FFW. Elliot himself reports that EVERYTHING seems clearer now.”
Carol Matthews Gillen
Hi everyone,
I’m Carol, a retired teacher with 40 years experience teaching elementary school, VPK through third grades, and Title One reading and math, with extensive experience tutoring. I also write books on Florida’s history. I just recently published my third book, entitled “Cracker Horses and Cattle, a History of Florida’s Heritage Animals” with Arcadia/History Press and I enjoy sharing my books at festivals and schools.
While working on my latest book, an interesting thing happened. I had a chance conversation with an MD/psychiatrist, a woman in her 60s, about the fact that I was experiencing great difficulty with the editing process. My eyes would not track across a line to the end of a sentence without jumping around, skipping words, and sometimes whole lines. I was concerned that I was not going to make my editors deadline. She immediately asked if I had ever heard of the Fast ForWord programs by Carnegie Learning (formerly Scientific Learning). I had not. She went on to explain that she, herself, was in the process of taking the Fast ForWord programs, having suffered with dyslexia her whole life, and she was extremely excited with her progress. She advised me to investigate these programs, which I did immediately after we ended out conversation.
About a month to six weeks into my programs I noticed the ease at which my eyes were tracking, no more endless rereading and frustration. I was delighted, and I made my deadline! Then I began to notice other things I had not been able to do before. I could now read or write when there was background noise. I could now focus better during a conversation when there were others talking around us. I could now more easily finish one task at a time without jumping from one thing to another. And if I went into a room and forgot why, it would come to me quickly rather than having to backtrack and try to remember why I had gone there in the first place!
Since I began my own personal Fast ForWord program I have read a lot of research and books written by the neuroscientists who developed these programs and watched many YouTube videos and thought sadly about the many students in my 40 year teaching career who needed help learning, but (not for a lack of trying), we could not help. I wondered where they were today and if they were still struggling with learning challenges. I thought about the children in my own family who have struggled in school. And I thought about friends my age who are concerned about preserving their cognitive function as we age, myself included. For all these reasons and more I decided to find a way that I could bring the Fast ForWord programs to more people, so I founded the “Think Fast Learning LLC” online learning company. I am very excited as we begin this new adventure and I look forward to learning more along with everyone else! So let’s press the FAST FORWORD button together and begin!
